Dusky Roses

Richard and Bryony’s wedding took place in the beautiful church of Saint John the Baptist in Barnack – my first time decorating this church, but hopefully not the last! Given the height of the church, tall displays of flowers in the couple’s chosen colours of dusky pink and cappuccino with cream and ivory were the best way to make the flowers stand out and set the tone for their special day.

Wedding at Barnack Church

The inside of Barnack Church is so beautiful and awe-inspiring, it was a pleasure to work there and must have been an amazing place to make those special vows!

Urn vase filled with dusky flowers

The urns used inside the church were filled with a mix of flowers in Bryony and Richard’s colour scheme, including plenty of roses in creamy colours and dusky shades of pale pink and deeper cappuccino, with fabulous hydrangeas, delphiniums and trailing amaranthus.

Bouquet of dusky roses and gypsophila

Bryony carried a natural style hand tied bouquet filled with roses and other gorgeous flowers to give plenty of texture and with touches of dainty gypsophila to pick up the lace detailing on her dress (and shoes!). Roses included Amnesia, which is a dusky cappuccino colour with a real vintage feel, paler dusky pink Mentha, to complement the colour of the bridesmaids’ dresses, and creamy Vendela, which was also chosen for the men’s buttonholes.

The sun was shining (after a rainy start to the day!) as guests arrived at Barnsdale Hall Hotel for the wedding reception, where more gorgeous flowers were used to decorate the entrance area. A perfect setting for a celebration and to enjoy the views over stunning Rutland Water!

The Edith Weston suite was beautifully draped for the occasion and a mix of tall and low centrepieces provided the finishing touch, giving maximum impact and interest to the tables. Vintage style candelabras decorated with flowers and foliage in dusky colours and finished with flickering candles added to the atmosphere, with low centrepieces incorporating the same mix of flowers and pillar candles

Such a lovely couple to work with and I was so pleased to get the flowers just right for them!

“Me and Bryony would just like to say a massive thank you for our wedding flowers, they were absolutely fantastic and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend you to anyone in the future.
So many of our guests complimented the flowers and all said how amazing they looked.
Your attention to detail has certainly been noticed in what you do and the end result is superb, so once again we would just like to say thank you so much.
Many thanks, from the happily wedded couple.”

You can currently see more of the flower designs from this beautiful wedding in my featured wedding gallery (and my thanks Ryan Jarvis (and Richard and Bryony of course)) for allowing me to share some of his fabulous photos – Ryan's are the good ones!
