A Tipi Wedding!

What could be better than a wedding at Normanton Church on Rutland Water on a gorgeous summer’s day…. followed by a tipi reception in a beautiful countryside setting! I was so delighted to be asked to help with the flowers for Sarah and James’s special day, particularly as I had previously been the wedding florist for James’s sister Amy.

If you love natural rustic style designs, do take a look at more of the designs from this beautiful wedding now on my featured gallery

Natural style bridal bouquet in pale shades of blush and sky blue

Sarah chose a gorgeous mix of flowers and colours for her country style hand tied bouquet. Flowers included roses and spray roses in shades of ivory and blush, with pale sky-blue delphiniums, blush astilbe, astrantia and ammi. Silver-grey eucalyptus foliage was used through all the designs too to give them a natural feel.

Floral display on milk churn

The couple made the most of their flowers by using them throughout the day. Fabulous large displays were placed on milk churns outside Normanton Church to set the style for the wedding. Just love the colours of those delphiniums!

Country style flowers for the registrar's table

Jars of flowers used to decorate the inside of the church were later used to decorate the dining tables inside the tipi.

Floral table plan outside tipi

How about this for a novel table plan? So pretty too! The little pails were filled with blush and ivory flowers to match the theme and looked perfect attached to poles outside the entrance to the tipi.

If you are interested in this idea I do have this table plan set myself too…

rustic floral table centres

Just love the simplicity of this sort of grouping of country flowers in jars and bottles – perfect for placing down the centre of the long trestle tables for the wedding breakfast.

The tipi wedding reception

Doesn’t this look amazing! If you’re thinking about having your own wedding reception in a tipi do let me know – I would love to be involved in another wedding like this one…

To see more of the flowers from this fabulous wedding do pop across to my featured gallery and my thanks to Sarah and James (and their brilliant photographer, Daniel Ackerley Photography) for letting me share a few of their photos from the day alongside my own.
