A Country Wedding

Such a gorgeous late spring wedding in the stunning setting of Bassmead Manor Barns - I was really delighted to have the opportunity to create the floral designs for Sophie and Stuart's country wedding.

The couple’s preference was for natural style flower designs that did not look too regimented and with lots of texture and ‘spriggy bits’ and foliage to offset the beautiful flowers – definitely my sort of wedding! If this is the sort of style you love too then do take a peek at my featured gallery where more of the designs are now on show…

Country style hand tied bouquet in ivory lavender and lilac

The flowers were chosen to pick up the colours of the men’s blue and green kilts and the bridesmaids’ lavender blue dresses, while making the most of some gorgeous late spring flowers. Sophie’s gorgeous country style bouquet included beautiful ivory peonies as well as scabious, scillas, lisianthus, daisies, astilbe and touches of gypsophila – it worked beautifully with her lace covered dress.

Rustic style buttonholes

The rustic styling of the buttonholes Stuart picked for the men to wear looked perfect with their kilts. The spray roses, astilbe and eryngiums were added to Sophie’s bouquet too so that all the designs worked well together.

Bridal bouquet and bridesmaid posies in shades of lavender lilac and ivory

Picking up that gorgeous shade of blue was not easy, but scabious, scilla and veronica with silver-grey senecio foliage helped to pull the scheme together. Doesn’t this mix of flowers look so pretty and natural!

Floral decorations for barn wedding ceremony

The stunning Rickety Barn where ceremonies take place at Bassmead Manor Barns needs very little in the way of additional decoration, so an arrangement of flowers on the registrar’s table set the tone for the wedding and little sprays of flowers on the aisle end chairs made a lovely finishing touch. These were then re-used as floral decorations for the reception in the main barn.

Simple jars of country flowers for the guest tables

Simple jars of pretty country flowers make perfect centrepieces for the wedding breakfast in a rustic barn setting.
